He's Just Not That Into You
Based on a self-help book written by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo concerning the ever-widening gap between genders and the misunderstandings that often arise between couples. In the film, a woman who can't seem to get a firm grip on the men in her life pursues an advice columnist who never quite knew what he wanted in a relationship.

Awesome! Not just any chick flick but it reflects reality.

Peeling PDQ & her food indulgence...
I'm controlling myself not to take or post any pics of the result of my chemical peeling... Yikes! It's awful & I feel like a snake shedding skin... gross! But for the sake of chio chio skin, it's worth it! *LOL*

I guess that was the most fulfilling part of the trip… Hahaa…. The "tam-jiak" queen strikes!

Our Reunion After A good 12 Years...
Been wanting to blog abt our 1st ever gathering since it happened last week but but.... sigh... thanks to my "eventful" wkend...
Anyway, I'm proud to say that the gathering being organised & coordinated by me was a success. Although not all 41 turned up but at least almost half were there lah... Special thanks to Ben for initiating the idea, Sharlyn for providing most contacts, Joanne for contribution of ideas & of cos to all who were present! =)
No awkward moments at all cos all started catching up in no time. I rem the good old sec sch days which I enjoyed the most & I still miss those days... "Sotong" brought up an unforgettable occasion whereby a big group of us sneaked out by climbing out thru the hole in the fence near the basketball court. It was on the very last day of school. In the end, our Literature teacher found out & the guys were punished to wash the toilets but we gals got off scot-free.. Haha... those were the days....Memorable indeed... I love these ppl!
Next up : KTV party! Woohoo!!
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I simply had to write something after watching “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”.
“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” has got an intriguing and completely absorbing story. It seems that the recurring theme in the film is that age is only a number, and that we as people can choose what we do with our lives, no matter what our age is. The director’s epic explores our choices, lives, and the timelessness of life itself.
Despite the wonder and awe of the film, the true allure of the film is not just Benjamin's aging problem, but the romance between Benjamin and Daisy, which is beautiful. Two people in love, regardless of age, time, or place. Isn’t that romantic? The standouts of the movie are really the visual effects and the makeup. I watched in awe when I saw Brad Pitt look 20 again! Gosh, he’s soooo cute!
This is really an amazing movie that should not be missed by anyone!

Starting "afresh"
As I try to build up my contact list again, some how I feel I'm starting my life all over again...
The Post V-Day "Drama"
Until now, the incident kept replaying inside my head over & over again.... What I've lost was way more than just monetary value... The many photos taken with my cammy at babe's ROM, my pathetic mobile containing all my contacts, my Coach skinny which was a bday pressie from my sis... They're all gone... What I had was a traumatizing experience that's gonna be here to stay for a while....

I'm glad to have u as a friend
Just the other day, I told u I'm feeling emo and all. Ur response to me was, "I will be here for u when u need me." It's always easier said than done for most ppl & it may sound like the simplest sentence. But I know I can reali count on u.
U caught me at the right as well as the wrong moment by springing the surprise on me. Sorry for the tears but thanks for the sweet & thoughtful gesture. I am reali touched cos at least I know I have u as a friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Dumb Management = Dumb Rules
More than often, non-compliance warrants disciplinary actions but where are the rewards & appreciation when there is? Sad to say, it really does not happen here.
This is the goddamn dumb email we rec'd. It's actually not all but what the heck!
HR and the ET have received some general feedback on Corporate Office matters that warrant a brief reminder to all staff on the company policy and expectation.
1. Punctuality and Office check-in
Corporate Office Hours are 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday. All employees unless otherwise stated in their contract must attend work at 9am at which time they must clock in with their access card to register their attendance and presence at work. Attendance reports for departments will be circulated within the exec team that show staff’s attendance record for each month. Turning up to work at 9.15am, 9.30am or later isn’t acceptable and going forward will be recognized as a performance issue by your direct manager.
If a staff does not clock in and clock out or follow proper attendance registration procedures, the company will assume that the employee was absent on that day. In such a case, HR may deduct an annual leave day for non-attendance. Some offices have CCTV internally which maybe used to review staff attendance.
2. Taking leave
Please review your staff handbook for clarification on leave policies. A reminder for all Corporate Office staff that no leave from 2009 or any accumulated leave from prior years will be allowed carry over into 2010. Please plan your leave schedule accordingly.
3. Smoking and smoking during office hours
In Singapore and in Hong Kong we have received written warnings from building management because our office staff have been smoking during office hours in fire exits and in illegal locations. Apart from being illegal, this affects the company’s reputation and relationship with building management and is not a productive way for a staff to spend working hours. Following is the company’s position on smoking in relation to the corporate office:
a. Staff damages your health and we encourage all staff that smoke to pursue means to quit smoking
b. Staff must comply with building rules and regulations and comply with laws that regulate smoking in public spaces – i.e not smoke in fire exits
c. Staff are not permitted to take smoking breaks during working hours of 9am-1pm and 2pm-6pm (lunchtime may vary in some countries). IF a staff wishes to smoke, they must do so before/after work or during their lunch break.
d. Staff should consider the impact to the California Fitness brand when they smoke in public. As a company and employees, we should be looking for ways to lead and encourage others to live a better and more healthy life, not the opposite.
4. Last to leave the office
It is the responsibility of the last person to leave the office to ensure the alarm is set and the doors are locked. If you are staying later than office close time for any reason, please ensure if you are the last to leave that the office is secure. The access system on the door reports who was the last to leave. Repeat offences of not securing the office may result in disciplinary action.
5. Food and Hygiene
If you use the fridge / sinks / microwaves in the office, please ensure you clean up after yourself. In the case of Hong Kong, the cleaners will clean the bins out at approximately 5.30pm. If you order in food and need to dispose of food packages and food remains, please do not place it in the office bin on a Friday night after 5.30pm as this creates a hygiene issue [bad smell, cockroach risk] over the weekend. We have had many complaints about this recently. If you store things in the fridge, please clean it out as the fridge will be cleaned and emptied on a monthly basis so you may lose food if you leave it long term.
I am sorry for the nature of the message but in some countries in some of the areas we are indeed sloppy and need to lift our game, especially at a time when the need for staff productivity is so critical.

CNY Celebrations
CNY seems so much quieter this year but me being a cheena banana, I always enjoyed CNY cos it's all about new year goodies, steamboats, angbaos, gatherings & gambling. I think the fun & mood only came on day 2 onwards. Went visiting as per yearly tradition then went River Angbao with keong, rose, seng & euni. Besides the big section with many food stalls, there was the 12 zodiac signs as usual and that's it! Boring but I just had to be there cos it's CNY! *LOL* Thereafter, we went to seng's house to gamble. Had a bit of winnings & went for supper at prata place after that... Hee...

On Day 3, i slept my way thru until noon then went to Love's house to bai nian... After that, we went to ktv together with Angie & Dom. It's been a long time we went ktv together & it's so much fun! Love impresses me with her "manly" voice by singing the duet "Wu Yan De Jie Ju" with me & Dom surprises me with his super got feelings Hokkien songs. Haha...

Resumed work on Day 4 was completely restless & ultra sianz... Went to Rose's house and Gor's place to bai nian on day 5 & 6 like how we did every year. The following photos tell the tales :

Another round of steamboat & gambling at my house in just another 12 hours or so! Hee... I love CNY!
