Random blogging...

It's been 2 weeks!! Mentally taxing!!! Has been such a busy & tiring 2 weeks. It's the payroll aka NIGHTMARE week now... gosh... Dont think i'm in the right state of mind for some blogging. =(

But anyhow here's some back-dated pics of our dinner at Different Taste together with keong, rose, BB, Anthony & Yvonne. Keong has been raving abt this place & of cos the food in particular the fish head curry. Personally, I find the fish head curry so-so only. But the prawns in black sauce, hae-cho & the prawn cake was superb. This place boasts of restaurant quality food at “Zhi Char” prices. Oh well, i will give it a 6 out of 10. Anyhow, here's the pics for Isa's viewing since she cant make it that day. =p

My Prime Ribeye done medium rare with coleslaw & mashed potato - perfect done-ness! but mashed potato not reali nice.


Our bill - Not worth it @ coffeeshop but value for the food.

It's been a week!

Yes, it has been a week since I started on the new job. Still in the adapting stage & I have to admit it's reali taxing on me. Weariness is clearly shown on my face. But I will persist & survive through this phase. =)

Pros of new job :

1. I get to msn officially! Yeah! No restrictions except for FB.

2. No dealings with external customers anymore.

3. I have my DID phone line.

4. I'm an EXECUTIVE now. Ha!

5. I have endless of new things to learn.

6. I can 光明正大 go on smoke breaks.

7. I have flexible & longer lunchtime.

8. I'll get 30% discount off meals at outlets after confirmation. Woohoo... FOOD!

9. This is a stepping stone for me.

Cons of it :

1. I have to wake up earlier than before. Yawnz....

2. I spend more $ & time on transport.

3. I dont get to drink FOC kopi-gao made by pantry aunty anymore. I have to pay $1.40 every morning. Soon, it'll be 3 in 1. Grr....

4. I realised I'm over-dressed! NB! The already normal & smart casual stuff i wore when i was in Cali is abit over the edge in that environment. Duhz.... But i dont care. =p

5. To take extra care in terms of dealings with ppl there. I'm no longer an "old bird". Now I realised how safe I was in Cali. I dont want to become an outcast. So far still doing good though. *praying hard*

Ok, seems to be more pros than cons. Hahaha... anyhow, I hope it'll only get better in future. =)

I need more beauty sleepy & retail therapy!

Dim-Sum Sunday

The temptation of dim-sum is huge that my mum can drag me out of bed at 7am on a Sunday morning. Note : Sunday leh! I dont wake up until like earliest 12noon!

Swee Choon Tim Sum was featured in 1 of our local TV programme quite sometime back. Wanted to try once previously but it was closed by the time we arrived. So this time round, we were the early birds & were there at 8am. Not the best dim sum I've had so far but it's definitely value for money. Char siew bao & chee cheong fun are the HK style kinds so I dont reali like it. Location not too accessible but it's real near to Mustafa. It's open till late so it's a good place to have supper as an alternative to the one at Geylang.

Must tries : Xiao Long Bao, Red bean pancake & their unique Mee Suah Kueh

Goodbye

Today is the day I bid farewell to the place & ppl I have been with for the past 5 years. It still seems very unreal that this day has finally come. I know I am going to miss the place & ppl a whole lot, reali. This is where I spent the majority of my working life in, practically my 2nd home in these years.

The job wasn’t that bad in the 1st few years but it has evolved into something which I hate doing. There’s no longer any learning space cos everything is just at the fingertips & it’s so mundane. It’s all about the JOB. But this place has nurtured me to be the person I am now, much better in a way. I have had the honour to see & also be part of the many changes in the Company. It has pushed me to the limits so many at times but I’m glad that I came out of the situations much stronger than I thought. This is also the place where I forged many valuable friendships which I will treasure greatly. Of cos there are also ppl whom I grow to hate & always felt like twisting their heads off. Oh well, these are all part & parcel of it all.

It’s time to say goodbye & I think I will cry. Goodbye Cali.
